AN INJURED yachtsman was rescued by Cowes lifeboat yesterday (Wednesday) after suffering back and shoulder injuries.
The call was received from HM Coastguard just as the lifeboat crew had boarded their vessel for a training exercise.
So immediately the volunteers switched to rescue mode, racing to the yacht off Norris Buoy, west of Osborne Bay at around 2pm.
The yachtsman, one of six people aboard the yacht, was given initial treatment by lifeboat crews before being conveyed to St Mary's Hospital.
