A MAN suffered a broken nose in what Isle of Wight police have described as a road rage type incident.

The 29 year old was attacked on Kite Hill near the junction with Fishbourne Lane on Tuesday, February 4, and suffered a broken nose and eye injuries.

It followed a short verbal altercation after two cars had stopped, according to police.

The victim, who was taken to hospital, was driving a silver car and the other car is believed to have been red.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested and released on police bail until March 5.

Witnesses can contact DC Peter Russell at Newport CID on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
