A MAN needed 21 stitches to his face after being 'glassed' in a Southgate bar.
The 43-year-old was playing pool with a friend at Cafe Rio in Chase Side last Tuesday evening when a man accused him of stealing his drink.
The victim told him that he had not taken the beer and the assailant smashed a glass and pushed it in his face.
The attacker then punched him in the face.
The man was taken to Chase Farm Hospital where he received treatment for a face wound, a dislodged jaw and a black eye. He also lost three teeth.
Police described the assailant as white, aged about 19, around 5ft 6ins tall and stocky. He had black cropped hair and is thought to come from the Southgate area.
Detectives are looking for people who may have seen the incident at about 9.30pm.
Anyone who may have information is asked to call Edmonton crime desk on 020 8345 4442.
