A search for two Greenford robbers who may be covered in red paint is under way by the Flying Squad.

The men, believed to have been unarmed, ran at a security guard outside the Abbey National on The Broadway in Greenford on Tuesday morning at 11.15am last week.

The 24-year-old security guard dropped the security case he was carrying which contained a dye pack, and the two men grabbed it and made off in an E-register Vauxhall Cavalier. They then drove the wrong way down a one-way street and disappeared; the car has not yet been recovered.

But the empty security box was recovered by police and the dye pack ,, usually red ,, had been set off.

Investigating, DC Neil Williamson said: 'If the dye got on their clothes it should last quite a long time, but it is quite easy to wash off the skin.

'We would appeal to witnesses or anyone who has any information to call the Flying Squad.' The men were described as black, and one was 5ft8, aged 22-27 and with a blue baseball cap. Call 020 8733 5751 with information.
