Hendon 4

Carshalton Athletic 0

Hendon completed a superb final two months of the season with a comprehensive trouncing of a poor Carshalton side.

Hendon took the lead almost out of nothing in the 43rd minute. Gary McCann's drop kick blew deeper than Carshalton's defence expected and caused havoc in the visitors' defence, PaulWhitmarsh nipping in to beat stranded keeper Blake with a delicate chip.

Four minutes into the second half Blake did well to parry a Whitmarsh shot, but his defenders stood and watched as Steve Heard netted his first goal of the year from the rebound.

Tony Kelly, bursting down the middle, jigged his way past Blake and slammed the ball into the net for the third goal in the 63rd minute.

Four minutes later, Simon Clarke made a tremendous run down the left and hit over a low cross for Junior Lewis to add the fourth.
