A MEETING will be held tonight (Thursday) to discuss the impact of recent Wightlink cuts.
The meeting at Newport Football Club has been organised by the Isle of Wight Trades Union Council.
The Isle of Wight TUC has raised concerns that recent reductions in cross-Solent sailings could leave the Isle of Wight cut off from the mainland, a view shared by Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner, who has also voiced concerns.
The meeting starts at 7pm.

Dave I am adult enough to see that the bridge is the answer and most of our problems will be solved when it is built. If you can't see that it WILL be built, then ... sorry :-)And the sooner the better. The more Wightlink hold the Island to ransom, the sooner it will be. Carry on Wightlink. I gave up on them after about 40 years custom and I am not the only one.If only the anti bridge people would get their heads out of the sand and see the bridge which is right before their eyes .................... never mind.

Please can we stop banging on about a bridge every time there is an article about Wightlink... it will never happen. It is becoming very tiresome and detracts from relevant comments regarding the actual story

I am not for a fixed link. However, the Ferry companies can not be allowed to strangle the life out of the Island. If a bridge is an option in the future it can be used in conjunction with tidal power (the IOW has recently received funding for Tidal Energy) Therefore funding can come from both the bridge builder/operator and the energy companies
