A MOTORBOAT with a couple and a young boy on board was towed to safety by the Cowes RNLI lifeboat last night (Wednesday) after it developed mechanical problems on its way from Cowes to Calshot.

The 17ft boat, G-Force, anchored 100 metres off Lepe Spit at 5.28pm after it got into difficulties. It was later located by the lifeboat which towed it to Medina Yard, Cowes.
