I am writing regarding the ever-increasing "virus" of our time graffiti. These days, if youths are not loitering outside your home, disturbing your well-earned peace, they turn into "tagging" yobs!
I live very close to Welling School and am constantly raging at the consistent graffiti problem in our area.
Bexley Council will come out and remove the offending graffiti but due to high demand for the service, you sometimes have to wait a month or two to see it removed.
No sooner does the council remove it then within a matter of days it's back!
Not only does this frustrate me, but with the council's scheme fighting a losing battle, we must question its cost in respect of our council tax although I do not want this terrific service removed.
If you are a parent, please stop and think. Where are your children tonight? Are they disturbing others? Do you care?
Finally, instead of waiting six weeks to have the offending scribble removed, I have started cleaning our road sign and junction boxes myself.
It simply takes a squirt of cleaning fluid and a soft cloth and 60 seconds!
Wouldn't Bexley be a better place if we all took pride in our streets and cleaned them up ourselves once in a while?
