CAMPAIGN: Police and London Buses promise to prosecute vandals and make public transport safer
THIS week, the Shop A Yob campaign points its lens at bus vandals travelling through Shooters Hill, Abbey Wood and Thamesmead.
Police are asking News Shopper readers to contact them if they recognise any of these four youths who vandalised buses across the area.
Operation Seneca co-ordinator Detective Sergeant Kurt Conroy said: "Graffiti and vandalism is a criminal offence and those caught on camera can expect criminal prosecutions against them."
London Central Buses CCTV manager Brian Gibson said: "Anyone found to be causing criminal damage or assaulting staff can expect to be taken before the criminal courts. We will also actively pursue compensation for any repairs that result from such actions."
He added: "We want our passengers and staff to feel secure and travel in pleasant surroundings and we will do whatever is necessary to bring this about."
Anyone with information should call the Seneca team, which specialises in bus vandalism and crime, on 020 8284 9149.
