JOYFULLY St Mary's bellringers celebrated the festive season with their full eight bells, following the purchase of a good second-hand bell which was hung in Christmas week. Last Sunday a quarter peal of Grandsire tripples was dedicated to Enid and Clarence Robinson who celebrated 30 years as licensees of the Red Lion where ringers traditionally seek refreshment after their efforts in the tower. Now the ringers look to the repair of two bells which have been in the tower for some 200 years and are in need of overhaul.
