A BROMLEY primary school has become a shining example to others in the borough.

Perry Hall Primary School, in Perry Hall Road, Orpington, has been awarded prestigious Beacon status by the Government.

It means the school has been recognised by inspectors as being a national leader in teaching and education practices.

The school will now be a centre for education initiatives which, if successful, will be used not just in Bromley but also nationwide.

As part of the award, the school will also receive a grant to help with the development of projects within the school to enhance its teaching practice.
