Shoe boxes of non-perishable goods including woollen hats and gloves, toiletries, stationary, cleaning items and first aid equipment, with £1 for transport, are being collected by Kingston Police next week.
Boxes will be collected on April 29 between 10am to 2pm outside Safeway in New Malden High Street, outside Budgen in Ewell Road, Surbiton and Sainsburys in Eden Walk, Kingston. The police will also have a stall at the All Nations Health Fair in Market Place, Kingston between noon and 6pm. The Met has joined forces with the probation service, Aid for Children, Rotary International and Essex Police to take aid to Romania and improve conditions at three orphanages.
