PRIESTMEAD First and Nursery School has been described as 'very good with many strengths' and praised for making excellent improvements since its last Ofsted inspection.
The school in Hartford Avenue, Kenton has improved its standards in English, mathematics and ICT as a result of strong teaching. Inspectors also found that by the time pupils leave the school they had attained high standards in all areas. Headteacher Janet Evans said: "I am very pleased that the inspectors found Priestmead to be a very good school and that they particularly noted the excellent relationship the school has with parents. All praise must go to the staff, governors, parents and especially the children for all their hard work."
However, inspectors found that improvements could be made to ensure that higher attaining pupils are sufficiently challenged and also that aspects of investigative science in Years one to three and art in Year three could also be improved.
