A survey of small and medium sized business by Business Link shows that nine out of 10 are optimistic about their business prospects and an average 22 per cent increase in turnover is expected.

Wholesale and distribution businesses are the most postive and, although manufacturers are forecasting the lowest increases in turnover, these still average 14 per cent.

Transport and parking are the issues business people most want to see the new London mayor address, according to the survey.

They are also urging Ken Livingstone to concentrate on encouraging business growth and support.

Other areas which concern business people are business rates and policing and security.
