CHRISTMAS trees can be taken to Bourne End, Studley Green or West Wycombe for shredding and recycling. Trees will be accepted until next Monday.

THE first of two new WEA courses starts at Liston Hall on Tuesday from 10am until noon. Tutor Val Pretlove examines how the City of London became the financial and commercial centre of the British Empire between 1661-1901. It is possible to enrol at the first meeting unless numbers are limited. The series of 11 classes includes a walk around the City.

IF you have a child born between September 1, 1997 and August 31, 1998, parents should have received forms regarding choice of schools for the new educational year beginning in September. MARLOW'S own traditional pantomime starts its run at the Shelley Theatre next Friday at 8pm when Dick Whittington and his cat are given a new lease of life by Lesley Fewell. Tickets are available at the Marlow Information Centre in the High Street and at Court Garden reception. They cost £6 for adults and £5 for children with some concessions available at specified performances.

SPRING term of childrens activities begins at Court Garden Leisure Centre from Monday and continues until April. As well as the various swimming courses for toddlers of four months and upwards, there are trampolining and creative dance sessions for the youngsters.
