I WOULD like to thank everybody who raised money for the charity Jeans for Genes on October 5.

I visited nine schools with Mercury FM, stopping off at Churchgate Street School where the children were very pleased and excited to see us.

We then visited Arrow Electronics, Sheppards of Bishop's Stortford, Morplan and Field House.

I would also like to thank Next of Harlow which donated a family set of jeans for Garry Mulligan, of the Mercury FM morning crew, to auction, which raised £125. Sharon's line dance evening raised £63.69 bringing my total to date to £351.

Having a child who has spent time in Great Ormond Street Hospital having spine and brain surgery in the neurological ward, I know first-hand what great work they do for these desperately sick children.

I also have a neighbour who has a child with cystic fibrosis and I know how much extra care she needs and the need for a cure is very prominent in their hearts and minds.

DEBS KANE,

Harlow
