FISHY business is afoot at Gravesham Civic Centre as residents have enquired about the welfare of fish in the fish pond.
Many residents have voiced concerns the fish would have their chips as work continues on the forecourt to replace existing benches and bins with stainless steel furniture. But there are no plans to remove the fish and fill the pond in.
A council spokesman said: Barely a day goes by without people stopping to admire the fish.
In fact, a council officer buys fish food with his own money to regularly feed them.
