CONDITIONS were near perfect for sailing in Cowes yesterday (Tuesday), inspiring close competition and enthusiasm across the classes.
It was also ladies' day at Lendy Cowes Week yesterday, celebrating women in sailing.
From a shortlist of five exceptional sailors, Annabel Vose was awarded the Ladies' Day Trophy.
The trophy, sponsored by Elemis, recognises the outstanding contribution, commitment, or achievement of women in sailing.
Annabel was the only female sailor in the Youth America's Cup in Bermuda this year, which she won as part of Sir Ben Ainslie's Land Rover BAR Academy team.
Annabel has been at Lendy Cowes Week racing on Bullit in the Quarter Ton class.
Amanda Marino, racing her half tonner, Chimp, in IRC class 6, won the Royal Southern Yacht Club’s Ariel Trophy, which is awarded for the best result obtained by a female helm.

Yesterday was also the first day of the regatta's new Sevenstar Triple Crown series.
Launched this year, the big boat mini series is open to large IRC rated racing boats of at least 20 metres and up to 36.
The largest boat at Cowes week, CQS, a super maxi 30 metre yacht was competing in the new series.
