TRIBUTES have been paid to Isle of Wight referee Dave Brunt, who has died, aged 67.
Known by many as Brunty, the former police officer served Island football for many years.
A minute's silence was held across all Isle of Wight football matches on Saturday.
The Island's referees' appointments secretary, Tom Berry, said: "He was such a genuine guy who would do anything to help.
"Sleep well my friend."
Friend and former colleague Barrie Wade added: "He was a great bloke, lovely nature and a genuine person who gave his all to football on the Island.
"He will be sadly missed."
See Friday's County Press for Mr Brunt's full obituary.
