A gun-toting skinhead sparked terror in Petts Wood when he threatened to shoot two people in the face.

The incidents happened within minutes of each other as the man and an accomplice targeted people walking home on Bank Holiday Monday.

At 11.20pm a 19-year-old man was walking down Crescent Drive when the pair asked to borrow his mobile phone.

One of the attackers flashed a gun and threatened to shoot him if he didn't cooperate.

The victim handed over his mobile phone but refused to part with his wallet and the two men fled.

Five minutes later, an 18-year-old man was walking home from the Sovereign of the Seas pub, in Queensway, when he was approached. The robbers stole his his wallet and mobile phone.

Police said the gunman is about 18 with a skinhead haircut. His left ear was pierced, he had tattoos on both side of his neck and was wearing a baggy white T-shirt. His accomplice was a black male, also aged 18, about 6ft 1in and was wearing a blue sweatshirt and light coloured trousers.
