KENT under-17 girls' cricket team are through to the ECB National Final by virtue of a 100 per cent winning record against the other five counties from the Southern League.
This is the second year running that a Kent girs'team has reached a national final. In 2000, Kent won the National Under-15 title.
The majority of the under-17 squad are still only under 16 a remarkable achievement to have reached the national final.
A trio of England youth squad players from Hayes Ladies' CC are included in the Kent under-17 squad. They are Lydia Greenway and Natalie Lane (both under-17) and Lynsey Askew (under-15).
Kent scored more than 900 runs in their five-match league programme and four centuries were scored two of which were scored by Natalie and one by Lydia.
They will play Northern League Champions Yorkshire at Leamington CC on Sunday in the 40 overs-a-side final, which starts at noon.
