A MAN was robbed of a watch and jewellery in Penge after he was attacked and left bleeding on the pavement.

The 39-year-old man was walking along Croydon Road when his attacker came from behind and overpowered him.

The man was thrown to the ground and repeatedly beaten and kicked about the head while his attacker swore at him and shouted abuse.

He was taken by ambulance to Bromley Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries to the head and face.

Police described it as a frenzied attack and are appealing for witnesses.

The robber was a black man in his 30s, about 5ft 5in tall and had a shaven head.
