A COMPANY collecting clothes for people in Eastern Europe is selling not giving them to charity shops.
Leaflets printed by Lugira LTD have been posted to homes in Cassiobury Park Avenue, Watford.
Printed in green, they ask for donations of unwanted clothes, shoes and linen.
The flyer says: "Not everyone, and especially young families can afford to buy new, often expensive clothes, shoes and household things."
It states items should be left outside front doors for collection between 9am and 9pm on Fridays.
The leaflet then says "all items collected will be distributed in charity shops in eastern Europe".
The Charities Commission, with which all charities operating in the UK must register, has no record of Lugira.
There is no such company listed with BT.
A police spokesman said no offence was being committed, but said the leaflet could be misleading because it suggested clothes would go direct to charity free of charge.
Lugira use their flyer to "thank you for helping us to help others".
