London Knights Ice Hockey team has continued its pre-season recruitment drive with five more signings two to strengthen the squad's defence in readiness for the forthcoming Superleague camapign.
Thirty-one-year-old American Rob Donovan, who has played in both North America and Europe, has recently been playing in the Italian League.
Knight's head coach/general manager Bob Leslie said: “I anticipate that Rob will be one of the best skaters in the league.
“He is a very smooth skating, agile defenceman and a true team player, as well as being a great offensive player. ”
The Knights have ended their search for a second goalie, to top-class cover for No.1 minder Trevor Robins, by signing former Manchester Storm keeper David Trofimenkoff.
Twenty six-year-old Canadia Trofimenkoff had a great year with Manchester, making the No.1 spot his own for the bulk last season.
Leslie added: “He is just what we needed to create the one-two punch together with Trevor Robins. Dave played great against us last season and this signing gives us quality depth in this vital position.”
Leslie also wrapped up a deal to bring former two Cardiff Devils both forwards Kim Ahlroos and Steve Thornton to the London Arena-based club.
The other offensive player to sign in the last few days was young Danish winger Henrik Borner.
