Dragon showed true grit and determination to triumph over last year's champions, Riverside.

Manager Mark Peach was forced to make changes with five players injured.

After only ten minutes, top-scorer Rees Frost got Dragon off to a good start, when he hit a cracking shot from outside Riverside's area.

Both sides then went close and Kiran Amin, playing up front, forced Riverside's keeper to make a great save.

The second half saw Riverside's players going in with late tackles, which made the game scrappy.

The away side managed to equalise when a striker shot past keeper Jamie Frost, following a scramble in Dragon's area.

The home side kept pushing forward for the winner. The team's defence was solid and kept Riverside's attack at bay, with man of the match Chris Drant playing well. Dragon thought they had re-gained the lead when midfielder Mark Horsfield slotted home from close range, but the goal was disallowed for off-side.

But midfielder Imran Ali headed home the winning goal from a Rees Frost free kick.

Manager Mark Peach said: "Every player gave 100 per cent and never once gave up."
