WHEN the churchwarden of St Peter and Paul Church, Mottistone, Felicity Young, married Dave Adams, it was the first wedding conducted there by the Rev Helen O’Sullivan.
The bridegroom, a mechanic, is the son of Mr and Mrs Dennis Adams, of Winford, and the bride, a consultant nurse, is the daughter of Mr Trevor Young, of Marlborough, Wiltshire, and the late Mrs Elizabeth Young.
The bride, who walked down the aisle with her fiancee, wore a handmade 1950s-style tea-length dress of ivory matte duchess satin with ivory lace overlay and full circle petticoats. She wore a bespoke ivory lace panel head-dress mounted on ivory matte duchess satin with hand-stitched beading and a bird cage veil and carried a hand-tied bouquet of red, white and blue roses, geranium and delphinium.
Bridesmaids were Florence Blackmore-Young, ten, (bride’s daughter) and Zoe Goddard, ten, who wore ivory shift-style silk sleeveless dresses with beading across the bodice and lace overlay skirts and sash bows. They carried posies similar to the bride’s.
Best man was Dennis Adams (bridegroom’s father) and ushers were Alfie Pool, CJ Pool and Angus Davis (bride’s nephews).
Music for the wedding was provided by family friend John Sergovic, from the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music, Pennsylvania, USA, who played violin, accompanying Mrs Erica Browitt on the church organ.
A Pimms reception was held in the gardens of Mottistone Manor followed by afternoon tea at Seely Hall, Brook, and an evening supper party at Seven Bistro in Brighstone.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Venice.
