Old Parks 117 all out Ilford 118-1

Ilford won by 9 wickets

(Division Two)

UPSET at finding themselves in Division Two, Ilford gave notice of their intention to bounce straight back with a comfortable nine-wicket victory over their local rivals.

As a sign of their ambition, they have enlisted the services of Pakistan Test bowler Mohamed Akram, and he ripped the heart out of the Old Parkonians, claiming three wickets in one over.

The club hope that Akram will stay the entire season and as well as take wickets, and also score some runs.

On this occasion, Akram's batting skills were not needed as Ilford's young prospect, Imram Ahmed, steered his team home with 52 not out.

Ilford's win gave them 18 points, whereas their opponents' efforts failed to earn them any reward at all.
