Team AkzoNobel, featuring Isle of Wight sailor Jules Salter, are set to start the fourth leg of the Volvo Ocean Race tomorrow (Tuesday).

The team has had to make repairs to the boat's mast and mainsail following damage sustained in stormy conditions in the Southern Ocean during the third leg from Cape Town to Melbourne, Australia.

Temporary repairs enabled the crew to arrive in Melbourne, although the team dropped to sixth overall as a result.

However, the repair work has gone smoothly ahead of tomorrow's start.

The 11,000km fourth leg of the race from Melbourne to Hong Kong is expected to take close to 18 days to complete.
