TWO Isle of Wight karting aces in Jack Goring and Louis Thornton clinched silverware at the weekend.

The final round of the Wight Karting Rental Kart Championship took place on Sunday, March 10, with 11 riders competing across two classes; lightweights and middleweights.

In the lightweight class, Angela Martin claimed top spot with 36 points.

An impressive day of racing was topped off with two class victories.

Emerson Riddett continued his recent fine form to finish second on 31 points, and completing the podium was Louis Thornton on 29 points.

A race win and fastest lap bonus allowed Louis to climb into third place by just a single point.

Meanwhile, in the middleweight class, Jack Goring completed his invincible Winter Series with his sixth win in six rounds.

There was no messing around from Jack, either, with a race win and two fastest lap bonuses accruing 35 points.

Max Downer produced some stellar racing to claim second place on 33 points, and Moke Jollife rounded off the podium with 31 points.

Overall, in the lightweight class, Louis Thornton topped the table on 171, with Harvey Yates second, and Emerson Riddett third.

Jack Goring topped the middleweight table on a mighty 191 points, boasting a 100 per cent record throughout the series.

Max Downer claimed second on 141 points, and Dale Hunt secured third on 138 points; a tight battle.
